If you’re interested in the lifestyle of the Mennonites, visit the Joseph Schneider House, one of the oldest homesteads in Ontario. This site is described as a "living history" experience where guides in traditional costumes act as inhabitants of the home, offering their visitors biscuits that have been baked in the old German manner and re-enact life as it was lived in the 19th Century.
Authentic furnishings and information about this unique culture are highlights of this tourist stop. The adjacent Heritage Galleries include German folk art, exhibits which change every three months. This historic home is at 466 Queen Street South and is opened year round.
