Come to the Doon Heritage Crossroads site and experience a recreation of rural village life in 1914. Crossroads are the intersection of two roads. Historically this was a place where trades and services developed and people gathered, hence many villages began at the crossroads.
This open-air museum shows life in the town in the days of the pioneers. Its 30+ buildings on a site of 57 acres provide an insight into what life was like here in the 19th Century. It’s easy to get caught up in the time period as you tour the town’s buildings and see authentic artifacts; costumed interpreters dressed as villagers and farmers are available at each stop to explain the life of the people who would have lived or worked in the buildings.
This is a family-friendly attraction, as it costs $15 admission fee for the entire family! Go to 10 Huron Road at Homer Watson Boulevard to get here. The Crossroads are open May through the end of December.
